LITE brings light to the sport

The energy company, Nyfors, contacted the Vendsyssel Sports Center with a view to replacing their existing and traditional lighting.

The sports center was invited to LITE's showroom, where they could be inspired and see exciting lighting solutions. In addition, the sports center had an energy calculation performed, which showed significant savings by replacing the traditional fluorescent tubes with LITE's LED tubes.

After a very short time, the decision was made and the lighting had to be replaced.

Vendsyssel Sports Center in Vrå is North Jutland's newest and most modern sports center.

With two sports halls, a café, a gym and several meeting rooms, Idrætscenter Vendsyssel is the natural meeting place for athletes, associations, business people, private and public companies and institutions.

It was important for the sports center that they received at least a similar lighting level to the existing one. In order to meet the requirements, they were one of the first sports centers in the country to have the existing fixtures dimmed to 1-10V, but replaced with LITE's T5 tubes. Furthermore, a dimmable module is built into each individual fixture, which makes it possible for the sports center's existing lighting installation to communicate with the new LED tubes.

By replacing their lighting, the sports center achieved annual savings of a whopping DKK 103,294. In addition, they received a grant from Nyfors for their energy improvement, as the sports center chose LED, which is a much more energy- and environmentally friendly solution.

Idrætscenter Vendsyssel is a dynamic cultural center in constant development, which is doing a lot to be the preferred meeting place for the people of Vendsyssel. With innovation and commitment, they are developing the center to an even greater extent to be the place where young and old meet for new, exciting experiences.
